Abstract
The article is devoted to the publication of materials of the Bystryanskaya archaeological culture from a multilayer settlement Novozykovo 3 located in the foothill area of the Altai Krai, 408 sq. m. of which have been studied. The most numerous finds belong to the epoch of the Early Iron Age. From various categories of inventory, the most representative is ceramic complex represented both by fragments of pottery and reconstructed vessels. Its detailed description includes characteristics of morphological features (forms of body, bottom and mouth), ornamental elements, ornamental motifs and ornamental composition. Figures of both reconstructed vessels and fragments of pottery have been published. Most of them are jar vessels ornamented along the upper part by pearl-shaped decorations with dividers. Cultural-chronological interpretation of the obtained material, taking into account the views of other authors, has been conducted. The authors present their view point on the chronological framework of the Bystryanskaya archaeological culture, which dates the 6th — 1st centuries BC in their opinion. The material has been introduced into scientific circulation for the first time.
