The Main Aspects of the Buryat National Holiday "Holiday of Sour Cream": According to the Materials of M. Danchinova
Abstract
Buryat ethnographer and publicist Maria Danchinova (1930-1995) refers to public figures of the late Soviet period. It is known that her work and life path was influenced by honored artist of the RSFSR Nikolai Halbaev an outstanding public figure of the Republic of Buryatia, Savranna, Erbanova and other people. Overall Danchinova left a great legacy. For example, her guidelines "Holiday of Sour Cream" are a valuable, little-studied historical and ethnographic material. A significant in the traditional culture of Buryats holiday of the same name is dedicated to the welcoming of spring and the renewal of nature. The worship to the distant ancestor of the people, the White Swan, can be traced in the preparatory period and throughout all three cycles of celebration. Undoubtedly, the holiday itself primarily contributed to the strengthening of ties between generations. Its fundamental points are the universality of the efforts, continuity, trusting attitude of people to each other, environmental education, etc.
The revival of folk festivals in the system of ethnic identity and the relevance of environmental education of young people is very important in modern society. Thus, methodical recommendations and the rest of M. Danchinova's legacy still remain in demand by various creative teams, and deserve further application and research.
