Organization of Sowing in the State Farm of Zheleznogorsk (Krasnoyarsk-26) in 1959-1965
Abstract
In the early 1960s, important role in the provision of closed Siberian cities was played by the farms of the departments of the labor supply. The purpose of the publication is to show the process of sowing in the state farm of Mining and Chemical Plant (MCC) — the main city-forming enterprise of Zheleznogorsk. The study covers the seven-year period and is based on the analysis of the executive committee of the Zheleznogorsk city council decisions concerning the activities of the state farm, plans of activities for the preparation for sowing, other documents and materials of the City's of Zheleznogorsk archive.
The analysis of the identified documents not only makes it possible to determine the volume of sowing, the main types of crops to be sown, to reveal both successes and shortcomings in the preparation and conduct of sowing, but also allows identifying the specifics of the activities of the Departmental state farm.
It was concluded that the organization of sowing in the state farm was conducted under the control of the executive committee of the city council of Zheleznogorsk, which monitored the preparation and progress of sowing.
The specifics of the state farm was that belonging to the Minsredmash allowed the management of the state farm for a number of years to ignore the implemented "square-cluster" method of sowing and a number of other voluntarist innovations.
