Abstract

The article describes the structure and contents of the scientific heritage of the ethnographer A.V. Anokhin in the museums of Russia. The scientist showed great interest not only to material but also to spiritual culture of the indigenous peoples of Altai. The study of nonmaterial heritage is important in development of modern Ethnography, this makes necessary identification and description of museum collections, devoted to the spiritual life of traditional societies. The article summarises the methods of recording traditional music, folklore, epics, rituals and beliefs. Collected materials formed the basis of museum collections. The works collected by A.V. Anokhin are presented in a number of museums of Russia. The materials on nonmaterial heritage of the peoples of Altai are in the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography named after Peter the Great (Kunstkamera), the Tomsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after M.B. Shatilov, the National Museum of the Republic of Altai named after A.V. Anokhin, The Altai State Museum of Literature and Culture. The aim of this research is systematization of the nonmaterial part of the heritage of the scientist's works that can be used for further study of everyday life of the Turkic peoples of Altai.
