Abstract
The article presents a scientific overview of organizational and legal forms of business activities in Siberia in the second half of the 19th — beginning of the 20th century. The analysis identified the peculiarities of their creation and development in the Siberian region. Entrepreneurs have been the object of attention from the state, which gave some freedom for the choice of the legal form of activity, allowed taking into accounts the changing conditions of economic life in the country and the region. Some organizational-legal forms of business found weak application in socio-economic life of the region, while others successfully developed and were logically related to the process of exchange and distribution of wealth. Trading house in the form of general partnerships and limited partnerships, joint-stock company as the legal form of big capital became a part of economic development not only in Siberia but in the Russian Empire as a whole. Russian law enshrined the rights and obligations of entrepreneurs, guaranteed the inviolability of ownership that had a positive impact on the development of entrepreneurship in the period under review. Laws to regulate trade, economic and industrial activity, reflected changes in the business environment.
