The Reflection of Social Thoughts of the Bashkirs in the Appeals to the Russian Government in the Second Half of the 16th — First Third of the 18th Centuries
Abstract
The history of social thought is understood as the history of attitudes and ideas about the development of society, on the causes of certain social phenomena and ways of social progress. The adoption by the Bashkirs of the Russian citizenship is associated with the beginning of a new phase in their history. Comparative abundance and accessibility of historical sources to study them thoroughly allow displaying the attitude of the indigenous population of Bashkortostan to the activities of the tsarist government to integrate the region in the structure of the state. In this respect the emphasis is made on appeals of the Bashkir leaders to various Central and local state institutions because they reflect the views on the social phenomena, all kinds of transformations in all spheres of life shared not only among specific individuals, but among all people who entrusted them to represent themselves. Data sources indicate the reasons for the numerous disturbances of the Bashkir people during the 17th–18th centuries, suggest ways of resolving conflict, options for further constructive dialogue with the Bashkirs of Central and local authorities. They clearly voiced the commitment of the indigenous population of the region the traditional relations in the sphere of administration established during the period of the Golden Horde.
