The construction of private railways of the southern Urals and Northern Kazakhstan is viewed through the prism of entrepreneurship on the basis of formation and functioning of the Troitsk Railway joint stock company. Special attention is paid to the economic feasibility of the formation of the project Troitsk Line (Troitsk – Poletayevo and the Troitsk – Kustanai) in the conditions of development of migration movement and economic development of the territory. The characteristic is given to the entrepreneurial activities of representatives of the largest Russian private commercial banks in the process of organization of the capital of the Troitsk Railway Company and in the course of construction works on the territory of the southern Urals and northern Kazakhstan. The period of construction and preparation of the basic plot line Troitsk – Kustanai was associated with significant difficulties in the beginning of the First World War. This circumstance had a negative impact on the organization of deliveries of equipment for track facilities, rolling stock on the lines of the railway. The author comes to the conclusion that despite the difficulties of wartime, the Troitsk Railroad jointstock company completed construction work, equipped the lines, began operating and planned the establishment of the railway network in the territory of the southern Urals and Northern Kazakhstan.
