Epistemological Aspect of Philosophy of I.A. Ilyin
Abstract
The article considers the main provisions of epis-temology of the Russian philosopher I.A. Ilyin: analyses the main requirements to the process of cognition, the observance of which, according to the philosopher, contributes to the achievement of the truth. The author argues that for I.A. Ilyin, the basis of knowledge of any phenomenon is experienced validity of knowledge, contemplative induction, in contrast to the deductive method. The author shows that I.A Ilyin also highlights the specific stages of the philosopher in the study of the subject. They are: perception, intuitive-logical understanding, and as a result, the realization of the truth. The author of the article draws attention to the principled position of the philosopher, claiming that the philosophy of science “experienced” and that “substantive experience”, is the basic foundation of all knowledge. The article states that I.A. Ilyin’s basic requirements to knowledge are formulated in a general epistemological law of studies, applicable to all spheres of knowledge. Thus, the author concludes that according to the philosopher, the knowledge, based on experience, on creative induction, allows one to achieve maximum compliance of the image to the Object, research it thoroughly, without distorting.
