Event in an Inner World of the Text: a Variation Problem in Translation (at the Material of the Text of V.M. Shukshin Story “Stepkа’s Love” and Its English Translation “Stepan in Love”)
Abstract
The article considers the role of the “speaking person” in variation of secondary communicative reality at the example of event nominations. The research is based on the study about the “speaking person” (HL) as an object of contemporary philology at the material of the text of Shukshin’s story and its English translation. The author and the translator participate in creation of the translated art text, and a translator as a syncret-ical figure introduces new meanings. In the process of text of translation life there are three representations of Homo loquens - the author, the translator and the reader. In new communicative reality there are new categories, subjects, objects and events that are made by “linguistic cover” of the text. In particular, in the text of V.M. Shukshin’s story “Stepan in Love” the event ‘love’ is provided by means of dual pair “no/yes”. The author’s understanding of the event ‘love’ is not a process (acquaintance - friendship - sympathy - love - marriage), but a one-stage transition from “nothing” to a proposal. There is not this linguistic dual pair in the text of translation so the borders of the event are not clear. Thus the aesthetical meaning of the inner world of the text is changed.
