Abstract
This review deals with the book “Forensic Methodology of Preliminary and Court Investigations of Murder Cases “by A.A. Korchagin published by Urlitinform publishing house. In the book the author tries for the first time to represent holistic forensic methods of preliminary investigation and court proceedings of murder cases. Theses methods include forensic characteristics of murders, as the information system about the most significant elements of this type of crime, criminalist features of identification and preliminary investigation of murders, criminalist characteristics of the judicial investigation of cases of murder. This monograph deals with the problematic issues of criminal law characteristics of murders as a theoretical basis for the formation of forensic methods of their investigation. The structural elements of the above mentioned forensic characteristics are examined. A great deal of attention is paid to the selection of the investigative and judicial situations in cases of murder and ways of their resolution. The peculiarities of planning, setting out the lead of murder cases and strategies of investigative activities during the preliminary and court investigation concerning the current case situations are considered. The book is recommended for undergraduate and graduate students and teachers of the law faculties and universities, and legal practitioners interested in the problems of the preliminary and judicial investigation of crimes against life and health.
