Synthesis of the Socio-Cultural and Politico-Ideological Constructs of Historical Education and Science in the Context of the Soviet Social Consciousness: the Models, Forms, Periodization
Abstract
The article deals with the problems of the organizational and semantic structure of Soviet historical education. Based on the archival sources introduced for the first time in scientific circulation, the analysis is given to the process of formation and evolution of the Soviet state policy regarding historical science and its teaching in higher educational establishments. The reconstruction is made of the process of formation of Soviet historical consciousness as a leading element of the Soviet sociopolitical identity. The revealed regularities of this process allow the author to distinguish two main components of the Soviet historical consciousness: socio-cultural and politicalideological ones, entering into a complex multi-level interaction in the context of their synthesis, carried out within the framework of higher historical education and the organization of science. The results of this interaction, which was ambiguous and contradictory, determined the dual nature of the Soviet historical consciousness which provided continuity with previous epochs, but critically dependent on the political conjuncture.
