The Biography of V.F. Voyno-Yasenetsky: "Kursk Period," the Life of St. Luke (1905-1908)
Abstract
In the present article on the basis of documentary materials of the State archive of the Kursk region the attempt to light rather short period in life of the Prelate Luka, the world famous devotee of Russian Orthodox Church of the 20th century is made. 19051908 — the period of his life and medical activity in the Kursk province as the province doctor. This rather short vital piece in the fate of the Lord was very saturated. At this time future archbishop took place as the doctor and the surgeon, performed unique operations on an innovative technique, made a number of important publications in prestigious scientific magazines. Here, in the Kursk province, the province doctor for the first time became a father, got love and respect of numerous patients and at the same time caused discontent with the professional activity local officials. Nevertheless, "the Kursk period" of V.F. Voyno-Yasenetsky's life specially was not studied and the similar research is undertaken for the first time. The detailed historiographic review of the studied subject is given. Data in general on a condition of health care are provided in the Kursk province of the head of the 20th century and characteristic of "national health" in the Fatezhsky County on the duty station of V.F. Voyno-Yasenetsky.
